Aloha Region Power League

The 2020 Power League will be open to U18-U15 teams for participation in the 36 team league this season.
Qualifying play will be starting in January at Kekuhaupiʻo Gym at the Kamehameha Schools - Kapālama Campus.
The league will end with the League Finals in April.

2017 Qualifying Tournament - Day 1 Pools

Format

 There are 40 teams entered into this season's Power League Qualifying Tournament. We will be having 2 sites this season, Kamehameha Schools (Kekuhaupi'o and Keawe Gyms) and Kalihi Valley  Teams will be spilt up into 8 pools of 5. Teams will play 4 matches (best of 3) on Day 1. Teams will officiate once and will be responsible for both courts. Playing teams may be responsible for their own lines for their side of the court. 

Coaches meeting for AM pools will be at 7:15am at Kekuhaupiʻo. 7:30am at Kalihi Valley. First serve to start promptly at 8am. PM Pools coaches meeting will be at 12:15p. Please bring an updated webpoint roster for your team to your siteʻs coaches meeting and sign and hand to the gym site director. Handwritten rosters will NOT be accepted. No exceptions.

Uniforms
Matching uniforms are not required for the qualification tournament. However, it is required to have numbered jerseys and if a libero(s) are going to be utilized, they will need to be in contrasting colors. Please update your rosters with the current uniform numbers before the start of the tournament. Uniforms will be required at PL#1 on January 31.

Rosters
Rosters must be printed from Webpoint and submitted at the start of the qualifying tournament. No handwritten rosters will be accepted. Rosters of all teams will be frozen after the first tournament starts as to keep the competitive balance of each team in the league. Only players and adults on the roster will be allowed in the bench area of the tournament. Per USAV Guidelines, there must be at least one (1) IMPACT certified coach/adult on the bench at all times. Adults (Coaches, Chaperones, etc.) may be added to the roster at later dates.   Please print out a new roster to reflect these changes and bring it to the next tournament date. Officials will be checking for compliance.

Best of 3 to 25 points (no cap)
Deciding set to 15 points (no cap)
2 timeouts (30 sec)

Pool finish will be determined by Match %, Set %, Point %. All teams will be re-seeded based upon Day 1 results for play in Day 2 (Sunday 1/15) with pool start times TBD and posted by Tuesday 1/10. Pool winners (Top 8 teams) will be placed into power pools for day 2 play, while 2nd through 5th place teams will be placed into pools of 4 to continue qualification.

2017 Power League Qualifying Tournament (UPDATED 12/30/16)

Information

Mahalo for your patience with our confirmation process this year. We have had our largest number of entries this season and we are excited to announce that we will be having 40 teams into our qualifying tournament this season. They will be competing for 32 spots in the 2017 Power League this spring. We are finalizing our tournament logistics and more information will be coming shortly. Please confirm your team's participation via email to aloharegionpowerleague@gmail.com by Wednesday, 12/28 by 3pm.

Reminder that the qualifying tournament will start on Sunday, 1/8 and will continue on Sunday, 1/15, Monday 1/16  with the last playdate on Sunday 1/29. Team rosters are required (via Webpoint) and will be handed in to tournament desk on Sunday 1/8. All players/coaches must be registered in USAV for the 16-17 season. Handwritten rosters and additions will not be accepted. (Note: Uniform numbers may be written in to match the uniform of player until official uniforms are required. NO DUPLICATE NUMBERS ALLOWED)

Mahalo to all teams interested in the 2017 Aloha Region Power League.

This year we have over 40 teams that have entered and we are looking to evaluate how many teams we can support for this seasonʻs qualifying tournament. More information, including teams that are accepted will be posted during the week of December 12.

Online Entry:
Online Entry Deadline: Wednesday, 12/7 -  (Online entry does not guarantee entry to the qualifying tournament- max of 36 teams)
Payment must be received by Friday, 12/9 (2 separate checks of $400 per team)

Rosters
It is understood that most teams are still in the process of registering and rostering of your teams. Work to get all of the information and payment to the region to register as rosters are REQUIRED at the 1st tournament playdate (1/8/17). Please be sure to at least email your roster to aloharegionpowerleague@gmail.com with the names, ages of players and their school that they attend to help to assess in the initial seeding process.

    Information

    The 2020 Power League will have 48 teams this season qualifying for the 36 team league. Qualifying play will be starting on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Kekuhaupiʻo and Keawe Gyms at the Kamehameha Schools - Kapālama Campus.
