Teams will be participating on 2 days of play. All matches will be best of 3 to 25 points, and the deciding match will be to 15 points. The first Aloha Region Power League Qualifying Tournament playdate will be on Sunday, January 5th at the Kekuhaupiʻo and Keawe gyms on the Kamehameha-Kapālama Campus. The second playdate is on Sunday, January 12th at Kamehameha-Kapālama and Damien High School Gyms. More information will be posted shortly.
2020 PL Qualifying
48 participating teams will be placed into 12 pools of 4 teams. Teams will play all teams in their pool and based upon their pool finish, be re-seeded and re-pooled for day 2 play. The top 2 teams will be placed into the Qualifying Rounds (24 teams) and the 3rd and 4th place teams placed into the elimination round (24 teams). All matches are best of 3. First 2 sets to 25 points, no cap; Deciding set will be to 15 points, no cap, 2 30 sec timeouts per set.
Day 2
Divisional Qualifying rounds - The 24 teams will be placed into 3 brackets of 8 teams and will be playing 3 matches for seeding into the divisional rounds of PL#1 scheduled for February 9th. All teams have qualified for Power League play and will be playing for seeding into Division 1 through 4. All matches are best of 3. First 2 sets to 25 points, no cap; Deciding set will be to 15 points, no cap, 2 30 sec timeouts per set.
Elimination rounds - The 24 teams will be placed into pods of 6 teams, 2 pools of 3 teams paired up for competition. Teams will play all teams in their pool, then a cross-over match with ʻpartnerʻ pool. All matches are best of 3. First 2 sets to 25 points, no cap; Deciding set will be to 15 points, no cap, 2 30 sec timeouts per set.

Cross-Over

Pool winners (1st place teams) and the winner from the M3 (M1 winner vs M2 winner) will qualify for the 2020 Power League. Losers from the Round 1 matches and the loser from the M3 match will be eliminated and will not qualify for the 2020 Power League.
